Giving Tree for Seacoast Birthright |

<p>Our Life Director and Grand Knight coordinated a giving tree at our Parish, this is our fourth year in a row with this project. We start by reaching out to Seacoast Birthright in Dover and ask them for their needs at the current moment. We then produce tags that we place on a tree right around Thanksgiving and we ask for members of our parish and council to take the tags and purchase the items and return them under the tree. We as a council then collect all the items returned over the season of advent, usually filling the tree 2 or 3 times during the season. Once we have collected all the items we then take them and donate them to Seacoast Birthright so they may continue in their effort to support life and project the life of unborn and mother's in need. This past year we donated hundreds of pounds of items including, diapers, baby bottles, children's clothing, formula, toys, books, winter jackets, hats, mittens, boots, grocery and gas cards. </p> |

<p>St Jude Golf Open - This was our 30th annual Open. This year it was benefiting a local family whose 12 year old daughter has been battling cancer for the last 3 years and a senior citizen in our Parish who has also been battling cancer. The Open was sold out by early March with a 144 golfers. We had 60+ sponsors at various levels of support. We also had 20 Knights who provided a sponsorship in memory of a loved one on Hole #8. The Council prepared a steak tip BBQ at the course and it was thoroughly enjoyed by our golfers and volunteers. The 2025 Open was a huge success. </p> |

<p>The St. Patrick's Day Dinner and Fundraiser is an annual Family event conducted by Council 13904 in collaboration with the Immaculate Conception Church community in Nashua. The event itself includes a traditional Irish dinner, prize raffles, live music, step dancers, and a lot of happy attendees. </p>
<p>The 2026 Dinner hosted 250 attendees in the Bishop Guertin gymnasium and took four months of planning to pull together. The months proceeding the event are spent organizing, getting sponsors, soliciting donations for the prize raffle, advertising, getting supplies, deciding on children's activities, selling tickets, and recruiting volunteers (including potential new Knights). Our Kitchen Crew prepares the food on the days prior to the event. The event itself was staffed by Knights, our spouses and children, plus parishioners who wanted to contribute. Clergy and members of religious orders are invited to attend at no cost, as are Knights that are mentally or financially challenged. </p>
<p>We consider the Patrick's Day Dinner and Fundraiser a Family event because it draws our families together to execute and attend the event, draws our parish family closer together through social interaction, and it raised the $2,250 of scholarship aid we donated this year to four parochial schools in southern New Hampshire. Our weekly planning meetings during the months prior to the event also start and end with prayer, so we always remember we are doing this work in His name. </p> |

<p>The Helping Hands Team is a group of men who staff Council 13904's efforts for the 'Helping Hands' Community program and the 'Food for Families' Family program. Our council actively supports the Corpus Christi food pantry in Nashua and the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter (NSKS) financially, with items gathered through drives, and and though volunteer labor. The Helping Hands Team is a group of Knights who volunteer weekly for scheduled activities at these agencies and are on-call should the agencies need additional help. Specific regular activities include weekly food pickups at local supermarkets for Corpus Christi using their van and Knight's personal vehicles, and regular serving of clients at NSKS. We also have provided emergency support for Corpus Christi when they are short staffed for food pickup or distribution and project-specific support for NSKS including school supply collection and distribution, donation collection, and client service. </p>
<p>The key enabler of this program has been having a growing team of volunteers that the Council's Chancellor can call on to staff the work. Having enough volunteers on the bench assures than no volunteer gets over-committed and also lets us promise the agencies that the work will get done. For example, on Mondays the food needs to be collected and delivered to Corpus Christi by 9:00 AM each week or people go hungry. Having a large team, including those who can drive their van and our own pickups makes sure we always can get the job done. </p>
<p>This is an ongoing program at our council, and not a singular project. Through it we are serving our community, strengthening our fraternal bonds, demonstrating the Knights in action to our community, and ultimatly answering the Lord's call to feed the hungry, house the homeless, and show compassion to all of His children. </p> |

<p>On June 22 2025 our council 7572 was asked by Parish, St. Matthew's Windham to participate in a scheduled Eucharist Procession. The procession route, around 3miles and started from Salem NH and ended at St. Matthews' church. Members of our council around 10 marched directly behind Eucharist. Council members who did not march also volunteered with security, first aid if needed and parking throughout the entire 3 miles. The members who volunteered to either march or to provide services is a reaffirmation of their faith and spirituality. </p> |

<p>The Red Cross gives us a count of Total Number of Products, which includes pints of whole blood and also "Power Red Products". The total count was 33. There were 35 donors checked in; some were not cleared to donate for various medical reasons. Two of our brother knights gave blood: Tom Campbell and James Festa.</p> |

<p>The project was to help promote the Season and spirit of Advent in our Parish. The Knights in our parish have a history of selling Advent candles. We do this to inspire families to set up an Advent wreath and to encourage family prayer. Through the prayer pamphlets provided, with the candles, daily prayer helps them to grow in anticipation of the birth of our Savior and redeemer, Jesus Christ. Candles are sold at our women's Christmas fair and after all Masses throughout the first two weeks of Advent. A beautiful display table is set up with a large Advent wreath with candles displayed. The pamphlets with daily prayers and meditations are given free with the purchase of candles. This project demonstrates our faith as Knights in supporting our parish and promoting the Season of Advent. Our presence is also used as a recruitment tool to inspire men of our parish to join the Knights, along with other parish events. </p>

<p>In order to enhance the quality of faith in the parish families, Council 11606 decided to promote the tradition of the families blessing their homes with the tradition of saying prayers as a family while inscribing the main entrance to the home with the inscription 20+C+M+B+26 using chalk, representing the year 2026 and the three magi who visited Jesus at his birth; Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar.</p>
<p>The Council procured the chalk and provided the parish with the explanation and instructions for blessing their home.</p>
<p>We recruited the pastor to bless the chalk during mass, and he went further and not only explain the tradition during his homily, but used Jubilee Holy Water he recently received from a parishioner's trip to the Holyland to bless the chalk. Father explained that the marking of the door was akin <span>the Israelites </span>marking their doorposts with <strong>the lamb's blood</strong> inviting God's protection into their homes, ensuring their safety on the first Passover. </p>
<p>The Knights along with family members distributed the chalk after Mass and many of the Parishioners commented they never heard of the tradition while others stated they participated in the past at other locations and were glad to see the parish participating this year. The Pastor was not only glad to participate but requested the Knights carryon the tradition in future years.</p>
<p>The benefits of this tradition include:</p>
<ol>
<li>Blessing and Protection: The chalk is a sacramental, symbolizing God's blessing and protection upon the home and its inhabitants.</li>
<li>Faith Formation: It is an opportunity for families to come together in prayer and deepen their faith.</li>
<li>Evangelization: The marked door serves as a witness to the Christian faith to neighbors and passersby.</li>
<li>Reminder of Christ's Presence: The chalk mark reminds residents that Christ is present in their homes and lives.</li>
<li>Unity with the Church: Participating in this tradition connects individuals and families to the universal Church and its liturgical calendar.</li>
<li>Continuity with Tradition: It is a way to maintain a connection with ancient Christian practices and customs.</li>
<li>Prayer for Blessings: The ritual includes prayers for blessings on the home, family, and all who enter.</li>
