Prayers for Knights

Knight's Prayer

Our Lady, Queen of the Knights, bless all the activities of our Order. Keep us true to our pledge, to extend the kingship of thy divine son on earth. Through thine intercession, win for us the grace, ever to exemplify in our public and private lives, the virtues that should characterize those especially dedicated to the service of the heavenly court. Make us always aware that as your Knights, we are constantly observed, our faith judged, and our Order appreciated. Accept, O Mary, this renewed pledge of fealty and devotion, of Thy Servants, the Knights of Columbus.

Prayer for Blessed Fr. Michael McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your venerable servant Blessed Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Knights

Let Your Holy Spirit fall upon us all, the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre, so that it may render us as convinced and sincere ambassadors of Peace and Love among our brothers and sisters and, especially, among all those who do not believe in You.

Knights of Columbus Prayer for Vocations

Form us all in the likeness of Your Son so that in Him, with Him and through Him we may love You more deeply and serve You more faithfully, always and everywhere. With Mary we ask this through Christ our Lord.

Opening Council Prayer

O Christ Jesus, who is the way, and the truth, and the life teach us to live the charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism that is required of us as Knights of Columbus. During this meeting, guide our thoughts and discussion so that we might thoroughly understand the problems we have observed, judge them with your knowledge and wisdom, and decide upon an action which will truly give glory to Your Father in heaven/ and redemption to all men. Amen.
Mary, Queen of Knights… Pray for us. Blessed Father McGivney … Pray for us.

Closing Council Prayer

O Christ Jesus, You who commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves, strengthen us to live as an expression of our love for you and our fellow man. Give us the courage and generosity now to act. Bless our actions so that our influence is felt within and beyond this council.  Make the Knights of Columbus an instrument of renewal within the church and of your love for all mankind. Amen
Mary, Queen of Knights… Pray for us. Blessed Father McGivney … Pray for us.

St. Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Divine Power of God - cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

Prayer to the Sacred Heart Sacred Heart of Jesus

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, living and quickening source of eternal life, infinite treasure of the Divinity, and burning furnace of divine love, You are my refuge and my sanctuary. O my amiable Savior, consume my heart with that burning fire with which Your Heart is ever inflamed; pour down on my soul those graces which flow from Your love; and let my heart be so united with Yours that our wills may be one, and that mine may be entirely conformed to Yours. May Your divine will be equally the standard and rule of all my desires and of all my actions. Amen.

Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

 PATRIS CORDE PRAYER

Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only Son;
in you Mary placed her trust;
with you Christ became man.

Blessed Joseph, to us too,
show yourself a father
and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage,
and defend us from every evil. Amen.

The Angelus

The Angelus is traditionally prayed three times a day at dawn, noon. and sunset or at least once a day at noon.

V: The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary…

V: Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R: Be it done unto me according to Thy word.
Hail Mary...

V: And the Word was made flesh.
R: And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary...

V: Pray for us, 0 Holy Mother of God.
R: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may, by His passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of His resurrection. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Mustard Seed Faith

Father, I thank You that according to Your Word, when we pray, we only need Faith the size of a Mustard Seed.

And if we have the Faith of a Mustard Seed, we could say to this mountain,
"Move from here to there"
and it will move. Nothing is impossible for You.
Lord I do have Faith, “please help my Unbelief”.

Alternate Mustard Seed Prayer

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” - Matthew 13:31–32

Lord,
Help me to trust that even the smallest acts done in faith can grow into something beautiful in Your hands. Plant in me the seed of Your love and let it grow into a life that bears fruit for others.
Amen.
