Program Information:

Describe the program in full detail using the space below and on page 2. Programs must be organized by the council or involve significant participation by council members to qualify.  Programs must also engage members by enhancing faith and spirituality, serving a charitable purpose, or a combination of the two. Program descriptions should reference how they meet these criteria. Along with the description of the program, provide the program's purpose, goals, accomplishments and why it deserves to win the award.

Supplementary material may be submitted along with the nomination. Accompanying materials can include letters, testimonials, news clippings, photographs, pamphlets, etc. Do not submit tapes, videocassettes, DVD’s, display materials, films, etc., as they will not be considered in judging the nomination.

Parish Cookout and festivities.   The purpose of the parish cookout is to bring our faith community together for a day of festivities, food and sharing. 

The cookout is open to all a parishioners and families at no cost. 

The Knights are responsible for acquiring and cooking the food for the event serving our entire parish with over 200 participants.  We also assist with set up and take down on the evening prior to and on the day of the event.  This event serves our parish well by bringing our community and families together in a social and fun environment with music, games, apple pie contest. etc.  Feedback has always been very positive. 

Many parishioners are also involved in the planning of this event, and many have been doing it for the three years the cookout has been going on.  

This is one of several events offered at St. Joseph where community, socialization and good food bring people together.
