Birthright Dinner Overview

 OVERVIEW

The history of the Birthright Dinner was to show out support to the Birthright Agencies across the state of New Hampshire. It was started in 2007 by Greg Taillon when he was our State Deputy.  In 2009 we expanded the program by the gathering of baby items at the January Quarterly donated by the councils attending. While the men were having their meeting, the ladies would take inventory of those items collected and separate to the best of their ability so distribution could be done at the Birthright dinner following the Quarterly. Typically in February.

Presentations would be made at the dinner while we extend our gratitude to these agencies for what they do and what they represent.

When COVID hit us back a few years ago, it was determined that these agencies changed their need and to make it easier on the Knights, started to request Gift Cards in place of baby items.  I have found at present that several councils are donating directly to particular agencies either close to them or in their local towns. Asking to collect this information has been very hard to do not knowing who has given to these agencies throughout the year as well as currently.  The collecting of gift cards has dwindled over the years making it harder and harder to determine how to distribute these gift cards. Last year I think the quantity that came in was very small for gift cards making it very hard to properly distribute evenly to everyone. This is my first year trying to keep tabs for our State Deputy on any donations whether directly or at this dinner and it's very hard to get info from our councils.
