Celebration of Our Athletes

Ellie Coe’s story is one of resilience, triumph, and the transformative power of friendship. Growing up, Ellie often felt invisible and struggled to find a sense of belonging. Everything changed when she joined Special Olympics New Hampshire, where she found not only a passion for sports but a community that valued and uplifted her. For over 12 years, she has competed in basketball, snowshoeing, track, and now softball, discovering strengths she never knew she had and traveling the world as a proud Special Olympics athlete. From winning medals to finding lifelong friends, Ellie’s journey is a powerful reminder of how inclusive communities can change lives.

Dave Morency’s legacy is more than just a story of a loving father and devoted volunteer—it is one of a deep, enduring commitment to Special Olympics New Hampshire, a journey he shared hand-in-hand with his daughter, Kerry, for over 25 years.

John Stark Regional High School - Granite State School of Excellence

At John Stark Regional High School, the spirit of unity, inclusion, and community pride isn’t just part of the culture—it’s the foundation of who they are. This was never more evident than on September 20th, when the school was honored as a Granite State School of Excellence by Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH) at their annual Homecoming Pep Rally. This recognition reflects the dedication and heart the school community pours into creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that brings together students of all abilities.

Through their diverse offerings and community-driven approach, John Stark has far exceeded these requirements. They are setting a powerful example in New Hampshire for what true inclusion looks like.
