Knights and Brothers, 2019 2020 State Emblem 200x200

This Veterans Day we remember those that have gone before us, sacrificing for our country. When you meet and thank veterans, try to take a moment to really talk to them, it will be rewarding to both of you.

District Deputy Reporting

District Deputies are available to assist you with issues that come up in your councils. They also need your assistance when they need to report information back to the State & Supreme Councils. Two things you can help them with this month.

  • What are the dates of your council’s two membership drives, this fraternal year?
  • How does your council do 1st Degrees for your new incoming members?

Thank you.

Moving forward with council growth, embracing opportunities. Vivat Jesus!!!

Joseph

State Deputy Joseph J Kowalik III

It has come to my attention that the following Councils are registered as charities with the Attorney General (Charitable Trusts Unit).  The Knights of Columbus is NOT a charity, we do charitable works!  We are a Fraternal Benefit Association.  We are a 501(c)8, not a 501(c)3!

The following Councils are registered with the AG.  In order to be registered with the AG they must also be registered with the Secretary of State.  NO COUNCIL, ASSEMBLY, or CIRCLE is to be registered with the State of New Hampshire in any manner whatsoever.  A Council Advocate may insist that is what must be done, they are wrong.  Continued registration with the State endangers the Council’s viability within the Order, threatens the Order and subjects the Council to the control of the State.  If a Council wishes to engage in gaming, then set-up a separate entity (like a home association in structure).

LifeWorthy Brother: This the second installment of guidelines to achieving success in Life Programming:     MASS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.

Here are the guidelines provided by Supreme. Remember you can tweak them to fit your council and parish

HolyFamilyFamliy of the Month/Year is a program asked by Supreme to be considered as a program for your Council. Further to that, it is a great tool to show the fundamental building block of a healthy society, the Family Unit, as something to be praised and complimented. How can we ignore that as Knights; the center goal of Venerable Fr. McGivney was in protection of the family! He KNEW how God cherishes this gift to Man!

FOR THOSE COUNCILS WHO HAVE NOT ATTENDED DELTA CHURCH DRIVE TRAINING

Worthy Grand Knights,

Hopefully, your State Deputy has made you aware of this new proven, easier and softer approach to recruiting new men into the Order. It is called the Delta Church Drive Program. We started this program in certain jurisdictions last year and we have seen great results.

You are cordially invited to attend Delta Church Drive Training on Thursday, October 30, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. This will be a GoToMeeting format. So there is no travel involved. Find out about this new way to recruit members form the comfort of your home. The sessions will last approx. 60 minutes

As a reminder each and every Council and Assembly must have an EIN despite the fact no Council employees anyone.

As a follow on to that annually a form 990 MUST be filed with the IRS. That is not optional, it is essential.

BirthrightBannerIT’S TIME TO START PLANNING AND WORKING

Our Annual Birthright Dinner will be here before you know it. We need to work as a team to ensure that our support of the N.H. pregnancy care centers is very successful!

The Laundry Basket Drive is an integral part of this event.  Help us collect baby items for local pregnancy centers across the state.

Roses for LifeThe Knights of Columbus of several Catholic parishes of Southern NH are once again joining together on the anniversary of legalized abortion to sponsor a day of fasting and prayer for the Culture of Life. The type of fast can be selected by each individual, on your own, but it is suggested to abstain from solid food for 24 hours starting 7:00pm, Monday evening, Jan 20, 2020. The fasting period for the sins of our nation includes 24 hours of Rosary, ending with Benediction at St. Mark’s Church, Londonderry, 7:00pm Tuesday evening Jan 21. Refreshments will be available after the service.
